Hello again, Hong Kong – we’ve missed you, your cosmopolitan flare, and your delicious food. \u00a0It’s good to be back!<\/p>\n

We were excited when we were invited to my friend’s wedding in Hong Kong over the New Year’s holiday. \u00a0Mike and I were dormmates in high school and have kept in touch over the 16 years since we graduated. \u00a0SIXTEEN YEARS?! \u00a0I’m kind of regretting that I did the math.<\/p>\n

Anyway, many of our other high school classmates have also kept in touch and so the wedding became a mini reunion for us. \u00a0Some of us hadn’t seen each other in over 10 years! Here’s a photo of all of us Webster boys. \u00a0Mike’s the one in the second row, middle.<\/p>\n

Happy New Year everyone! \u00a0We celebrated with other wedding guests in the IFC building on the Hong Kong island.<\/p>\n

\"NYE<\/a><\/p>\n

As we headed back to our hotel, we could see the remnants of the celebration… like a half-drunk wine bottle left in the subway station. \u00a0 I’d like to say we were firing it up, but no, it wasn’t ours. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

On New Year’s Day, we celebrated Mike and Erica’s wedding. \u00a0 The ceremony and reception were exquisite – we were pampered guests. \u00a0By the way, check out the videographer with the steady cam in the photo below to the right. \u00a0 Impressive.<\/p>\n

The reception had over 300 people in the grand ballroom of the Island Shangri La. \u00a0Apparently it was a see and be seen event, because the HK paparazzi showed up to photograph a famous Hong Kong pop star.<\/p>\n

Here’s a nice photo of some of us high school classmates. \u00a0We came from near and far for the event: \u00a0Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Taipei, Beijing, Tokyo, Boston, and New York.<\/p>\n

Well, Hong Kong, it was great to see you, but now we must move on because you are quite an expensive city. \u00a0Now, we’re headed off to Chiang Mai, Thailand – back to warmer weather. \u00a0So, we mailed home all of our cold weather clothes from Beijing\/Taipei and retired some others, like my formerly white and now very gray and frayed dri-fit t-shirt that I’d worn every few days over the past 9 months.<\/p>\n
