Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5151414195\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4017\/5151414195_fd49bf06b0_z.jpg\" alt=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Total Miles Traveled: <\/strong>39,098<\/p>\n<p>Huangshan (&#8220;Yellow Mountain&#8221;) is said by some to be the most beautiful mountain in China and where some scenes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were filmed. \u00a0 It is also likely one of the most visited national parks in China &#8211; there was no shortage of tour groups with guides screaming in to their megaphones or tourists clamoring to get the perfect photo. \u00a0But we didn&#8217;t let that spoil the fun! \u00a0The scenery more than makes up for any inconveniences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Don't climb on cliffs! by T. Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5151404675\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4064\/5151404675_06934da190_z.jpg\" alt=\"Don't climb on cliffs!\" width=\"640\" height=\"429\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Simply dodge the tourists, stay ahead of the tour groups, and you&#8217;ll find quiet little spots where you can enjoy the scenery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China by T. Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5152010736\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1045\/5152010736_a99822855d_z.jpg\" alt=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The great thing about the park is that there are a few hotels at the summit so that you can stay overnight and see the sunset and sunrise. \u00a0 It&#8217;s these two events that many come to see, because you can see a &#8220;sea of clouds&#8221; against the mountains or as many would say, a real life Chinese painting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What you soon realize though is that all the food, water, beer, etc. is hand carried up the mountain by porters and not via the gondolas we rode up on. \u00a0That&#8217;s a 4-hour minimum uphill climb! \u00a0 It makes you appreciate all of the food and drink you have, and the hefty price you pay to stay up on the mountain doesn&#8217;t seem so bad after all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"All food, water, and other sundries are transported up the mountain by foot by T. Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5151429409\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1390\/5151429409_8bf9b1793e_z.jpg\" alt=\"All food, water, and other sundries are transported up the mountain by foot\" width=\"428\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Then, you begin to wonder, how did they build all of the hotels? \u00a0Well, by hand of course. \u00a0We came across these workers, about a dozen of them, carrying a huge steel beam in to a new construction site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China by T. Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5152042048\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4107\/5152042048_2d8fd7d255_z.jpg\" alt=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China\" width=\"429\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They were struggling pretty hard, so much so you wonder if they actually brought all of these up the mountain. \u00a0 I&#8217;d hope they were brought in by helicopter&#8230; \u00a0 So&#8230; the next time you think your job sucks? \u00a0Well, maybe it doesn&#8217;t suck so much.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China by T. Chen, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tony-chen\/5151471225\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1351\/5151471225_7233681192_z.jpg\" alt=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We didn&#8217;t hike the &#8220;West Canyon&#8221; route (8 hours)although that was rumored to have some of the most dramatic scenery. \u00a0I attempted it for about 15 minutes and realized the steps just kept going down, down, down, which meant a lot of up, up, up. \u00a0 And not only that, the steps&#8230; they were STEEP!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), China by T.
