Today, we explored the cemetary at Recoleta where many rich and famous, including Eva Peron, are buried. As you’ll see in the photos, there are hundreds if not thousands of tombs, all built up and decorated in different ways – some old, some very modern. Then, we stopped at the La Biela cafe for beers and snacks – there were a lot of locals mixed in with tourists, and a passionate singer, who couldn’t quite sing. But the dramatic lyrics, dry ice smoke, and Stella Artois made up for it.

Has it sunk in, yet, that you’re away? Looks like an awesome start and I’m looking forward to living vicariously when I remember to catch up on your travels. Enjoy the beef, the wine but, most importantly, the experience the two of you are having… good thing I’m not the jealous type 😉
It doesn’t feel like we’re truly away yet – still feels like vacation! We’re looking forward to hanging out somewhere for a while, though not sure where that will be yet. Mendoza perhaps? Interesting re: wine, a lot of the Malbecs we’re having are pretty young (2008) and have been aged for 12 as opposed to 18 months as is often the case in Cali. Food has been really good actually – had a beef tenderloin experience that makes my top 5 steaks of all time!
